Smart Home Life (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Smart Home Life iOS application. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information We Collect

Email Address (optional)

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter through the app, we collect your email address. This is entirely optional and initiated only by you. We use it to send occasional updates about new product listings, guide releases, and changes to existing listings.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter email.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Your name
• Your location
• Device identifiers
• Usage data or analytics
• Payment information (all purchases happen on Amazon or our website)

Amazon Affiliate Links

This app contains Amazon affiliate links. When you click a link and make a purchase on Amazon, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon’s privacy practices are governed by Amazon’s own Privacy Notice at amazon.com/privacy.

Third-Party Services

The app may open links to Instagram, Facebook, and our website (smarthomelifellc.com) in Safari. These services have their own privacy policies that govern data collection on their platforms.

Smart Home Integrations (Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and SmartThings)

Smart Home Life can connect to Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings so you can see your devices from every platform in one place. These connections are optional and are started only by you.

When you connect a platform, the app reads your home setup from that platform: your homes and rooms, the devices in them, and for each device its name, type, manufacturer and model where available, and online status. The app uses this information only to show your devices inside the app, automatically hide duplicates that appear on more than one platform, and let you organize or hide devices yourself.

This information is processed on your device. We do not transmit it to, or store it on, Smart Home Life servers; we do not sell it; and we do not use it for advertising. You can disconnect any platform at any time in the app’s Settings under Integrations, which immediately stops the app’s access.

Apple HomeKit data is accessed through Apple’s HomeKit framework and stays on your device. Google Home data is accessed through the Google Home APIs after you sign in with your Google account; Smart Home Life’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. SmartThings data is accessed through Samsung SmartThings after you connect your account.

Children’s Privacy

This app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The optional email subscription is intended for adults.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We’ll post any changes on this page with an updated date.
